La prima cosa che viene in mente pensando alla rafia sono le borse da mare, quei bei cesti capienti dove entra proprio tutto ma che, anche semi-vuoti, mantengono il loro fascino donando a chi le imbraccia quell’aria un po’ retrò chic… insostituibili direi.

Lo sanno bene gli stilisti e i creativi che hanno riproposto gli anni ’60 e i favolosi ’70, proprio per questo non potevano certo trascurare un materiale che in quei tempi la faceva da padrone!

Ma come fare a trasformare qualcosa di già visto in qualcosa d’inusuale e attraente?

Le nuove tecnologie aiutano tutti, ma soprattutto gli audaci e i sognatori, così la rafia ispida e duretta è stata rielaborata, resa morbida e avvolgente tanto da essere tessuta, tagliata e cucita pronta a dare vita a cappottini, giacche, abiti e top.

Resta sempre valido il suo uso per scarpe e borse, Sergio Rossi e Dolce e Gabbana hanno creato per noi e la nostra estate collezioni meravigliose, capolavori tutti da sfoggiare. Per le tasche di chi risente della crisi o per chi non ha voglia di spendere troppo sono di aiuto, come vi dico sempre, i brands low cost come Zara e H&M.

Case di moda come Ter et Bantine e Erika Cavallini, con essa hanno realizzato capi da indossare che nulla hanno da invidiare a quelli cuciti con tele di cotone o lino.

Personalmente, ho provato un cappottino di rafia molto confortevole ma soprattutto unico, il suo color geranio ha fatto il resto…mi ha catapultato per un momento nella Primavera che, impazientemente, attendo.

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about raffia are the beach bags, those beautiful big baskets where you can put what you want but also semi-empty retain their charm, giving to the person who wields a little air retro chic … irreplaceable!

Designers and creatives knows this very well, in fact they have proposed (again) the '60s and fabulous '70s, for this certainly could not overlook a material which at that time was king!

But how do you turn something already seen in something unusual and attractive?

New technologies help everyone, but especially the bold and dreamers, so the shaggy and rough raffia has been reworked, made soft and cozy enough to be woven, cut and sewn ready to give birth to coats, jackets, dresses and tops.

Always rely on its use for shoes and handbags, Sergio Rossi and Dolce & Gabbana have created for us and our summer wonderful collections, masterpieces all to show off. For the pockets of those who suffers from the economic crisis or for those who do not want to spend too are helpful, as I always say, the low cost brands like Zara and H & M.

Fashion houses such as Ter et Bantine and Erika Cavallini have made with raffia clothes that have nothing to envy to those sewn with cotton canvas or linen.

Personally, I tried a coat of raffia very comfortable but above all, unique, its color geranium did the rest ... I was thrown for a moment in the spring, that I'm impatiently waiting.
